Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport, located 17 kilometers southeast of the Georgian capital, it is the country's major airport, serving more than 3.5 million passengers a year. The airport has cargo and passenger flights connecting Georgia with the cities of Europe and Asia.

In 2007, the airport complex was reconstructed, including the construction of a new passenger terminal. In 2018, part of the apron was reconstructed to increase the number of parking lots. The complex includes one operating runway, 4 aprons and 2 passenger terminals.

АThe airport is able to serve all aircraft except the Airbus A380, which helps to increase passenger flow and attract new airlines to the air harbor.

Briefing

The stand and taxiing instructions to the apron for arriving aircraft are issued by the Tower. The taxiing route to the holding short is issued in two stages: taxiing on the apron from the Apron, taxiing on taxiways from the Tower.

Before taxiing the aircraft crew is required to request an ATC departure clearence. ATC Clearence is to be requested not earlier than 10 minutes before the engines start. Lining up and take-off is allowed only with the permission of the Tower Controller. TWYs B, C and E can be used by all aircraft without restrictions. Aircraft are allowed to perform a 180-degree turn on taxiway E at the intersection with the RWY 13L/31R. Aircraft with a code of D and higher are allowed to perform a 180-degree turn on the RWY 13R/31L at the threshold of 13R and at the intersection with taxiway E.

Taxiing from stands 1 and 8 is allowed only by towing for all aircraft with a code that exceeds code B. TWY A can be used by aircraft with a code not exceeding code C.

In the airspace of Tbilisi-Approach (on STARs and SIDs) below flightlevel 110, the crew is required to maintain a speed of no more than 250 knots, unless otherwise instructed by the ATC. Minimum radar separation is 5 nautical miles.

The crew must maintain a gradient of more than 5.4% up to flightlevel 90 when departing on runway heading of 31L. For ILS and VOR approaches of 13R, the vectoring is not used
